Hi there! My name is Kelli Filbin, and I am currently a fourth year student at UCSB pursuing a B.A. degree in Political Science, a minor in Professional Writing, and a business certificate in Technology Management.

I have held a variety of positions that include coaching, customer service, sales, writing, and web designing. I have attained a broad range of skills throughout my work experience, which gives me a competitive edge in a variety of positions.

Hewes Middle School Lacrosse
As the head coach of a middle school girls lacrosse team, I held a large amount of responsibility. Mainly, I supervised and motivated a team of twenty-five girls aspiring to play lacrosse in high school. Also, I was responsible for scheduling appointments for trainers to visit, as well as for helping organize tournament participation.

Front Desk Associate
As a front desk associate for a tanning salon, I cashiered, sold products, and scheduled appointments with clients. From this experience, I have attained skills in sales, finance, and customer service.

The Daily Nexus
As a staff writer for the local newspaper, I wrote weekly articles for the food section to be published in print and online. In addition, I pitched innovative ideas to the On The Menu Editor and worked collaboratively within a team. During my time there, I also interviewed restaurant owners and employees for research for my articles.

Currently, I am a web designer for UCSB's Multimedia Writing Minor website. One task consists of designing and customizing the content of the website using WordPress and Adobe Photoshop. In addition, I interview and collect samples from current students within the minor to post on the website.
I am currently a fourth year student at the University of California, Santa Barbara graduating in June 2017. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a minor in Professional Writing, and a business certificate in Technology Management.
